LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels is the first and only ethanol to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant in the world.
Its start-up will launch the next generation of SAF production and is a leap forward for the industry to fully commercialize Alcohol-to-Jet technology.
Located in Soperton, GA, this 10 million (US) gallon per year facility is set to come online in 2024. The facility will source low-carbon ethanol for the production of SAF and renewable diesel fuel. The plant is fully funded and has offtake agreements in place for the next ten years.
Working together towards a sustainable future — starting in Soperton, GA.
We are proud to work with partners across the community of Soperton, Treutlen County, and the State of Georgia. The SAF industry presents incredible opportunities for the rural American economy – and communities across the country stand to benefit.
We’ve also had support nationally and internationally for LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels – including funding from the US Department of Energy, a loan from Microsoft’s Innovation Fund, and a $50 million grant from Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy, not to mention the support from our investors and founders.
Building, sustaining, and scaling a new industry requires true partnerships at all levels and LanzaJet would not be this far along without the contributions and partnership of the Soperton community, the US government, and our partners across the world.
