Louay Masarweh
Vice President, Operations
Louay Masarweh is the VP of Operations of LanzaJet, Inc., a leader with 31 years in oil and gas operations and technology in refining, petrochemicals, and catalyst manufacturing. Louay is leading LanzaJet to construct and operate the first Alcohol to Jet Facility in the world. He is also leading the safety, project execution and construction, product logistics and operations of future LanzaJet own and operated sites.
Louay spent majority of his career in several engineering, operations and global functions to drive operational excellence in existing and green field assets. His experience leveraged technology, operational and work process knowledge to drive personal safety, process safety and best in class reliability in both Shell and Chevron. Louay’s work spanned several worldwide manufacturing assets and successful startup and operations of two green field facilities in Saudi Arabia and the US.
Louay served in technology and operational roles in Shell and Chevron. In Shell where he was the General Manager of a world scale catalyst manufacturing site, Operations Manager of the Shell Norco Refinery, Technology and HSSE manager at the Shell Martinez Refinery. In Chevron as Operations Manager of a Pasadena polyethylene manufacturing site, Process Engineering Manager at Chevron/Saudi Petrochemical JV.
Louay earned his B.Sc in Chemical Engineering from the California Polytechnic University in Pomona. He is passionate in growing future leaders and giving back to those who don’t have means to improve their education.
