Our aim is to decarbonize the aviation industry so that families, friends, colleagues, commerce, and the world can stay connected. It’s no small feat. We believe that we have the right people asking the right questions with the right intentions to make it happen. And so we will.
How we got here
In 2020, LanzaJet was founded to focus on the development of SAF via the commercialization of our leading, exclusive, and patented Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology.
Initial research and proof of concept began by our founder and partner LanzaTech and the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Lab.
Tech begins to scale up at the LanzaTech R&D and demo facility in Soperton, Georgia.
We build our pilot and demo plants for Sustainable Aviation Fuel production
We received ASTM International approval for the ethanol Alcohol-to-Jet ASTM D7566 Annex A5 pathway for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

The right people with the right goal.
Our people are the best in the business. They’re leaders, innovators, and disruptors who are dedicated to shaping a cleaner world through global energy transition and decarbonization. From our senior leadership team to our scientists, engineers, technologists, and everyone working in our plants, business operations teams, and field services, we have the talent and power to make a difference. And we’re making it happen.
Leadership
A groundswell of support from global leaders.
LanzaJet was formed through the contributions of our investors LanzaTech, Suncor, Mitsui, along with support from All Nippon Airways and the US Department of Energy (DOE). We continue to accelerate our growth through new partnerships and have since welcomed additional investment and support from British Airways, Shell, Microsoft, Breakthrough Energy, Southwest Airlines, Groupe ADP, and MUFG.
The backing from these organizations is significantly accelerating LanzaJet’s commercial deployment at a time when reducing emissions, especially of aviation, is increasingly important. We are grateful to all of our investors for their commitment and continued support in creating a resilient, lower carbon future.
